Message From: Pastor Lake
In light of the Coronavirus and COVID-19 pandemic, and in consultation with Church and ministry leadership, and after petitioning the Lord in prayer, I have decided that we will not meet in the sanctuary for Sunday Morning Worship. Instead of gathering together in fact-to-face worship, we will use Facebook Live to stream our morning service.
I invite those that can and will, to connect with us, at our regular 10:45AM service time, as we go before the Lord with praise, prayer, and worship. To join us in worship service through Facebook Live, you’ll need a Facebook account. Just search for UBC Union Baptist Church Fort Wayne on Facebook and you’ll be able to participate in our morning worship.
Join us using this link to the official Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/UBCFW2200/
If you are unable to watch on Facebook, you can access the worship service via a conference call. All you need to do is call the phone number and you’ll be able to listen to the message that God has given to me for you (us). At 10:45AM, call 1-605-475-5950 enter code 2089397 and you will be connected in Sunday Morning Worship.
I have three very important points of information to share with you. First, we want you to know how you can participate in the tithing sacrament as we are instructed in Malachi 3:10. We have established a way for you to give your tithes and offerings directly through electronic giving using GIVELIFY look for Union Baptist Church Fort Wayne or Cash App enter $UBCFW. You will need to download these applications on your smartphone or computer. It is very easy to do and your tithes and offering will go directly to Union Baptist Church. With both of these applications, you will have a record of your giving. If you prefer to give cash or write a check, you can do that as well. Here’s how. Bring your tithes to the church on Sunday morning, starting at noon, and an officer of the church will greet you, pray with you if you want, and collect your tithes and offerings; envelopes will be available. Of course, you can send your tithes and offerings to the church via the US Post Office. Send it to Union Baptist Church, 2200 Smith Street, Fort Wayne, IN 46803. Lastly, you can call the church and schedule an appointment for a Deacon to come to pick up your offering.
Second, we are planning to continue with Bible Study using Facebook Live Streaming and Conference call at 1-605-475-5950 enter code 2089397. The same process that we are using on Sunday for our worship service. So, prepare to join in for Bible Study during our regular time – Monday at 5:30PM. We are studying the Gospel of Mark.
Finally, I want to let you know that while the church office will have limited staffing, you can continue to call for any requests or assistance by phone Monday-Friday, 10AM-4PM. This is a difficult time and we are being asked to socially isolate but you should know that your church is here from you.
I pray that the Lord continues to bless and keep you. And that your faith increases even now. Scriptures remind us that the Lord is our Strength and Shield. Praise be the Lord.
Blessings and love,
Rev. Tim Lake, Sr. Pastor

Faith to Build Tomorrow
Having been led, as we believe, by the Spirit of God, to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior; and on the profession of our faith, having been baptized in The name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, we do now in the Presence of God, Angels, and this assembly, most solemnly and joyfully enter into covenant with one another, as one body in Christ.
We engage, therefore, by the aid of the Holy Spirit, to walk together in Christian Love; to strive for the advancement of this Church, in knowledge and holiness; to give it a place in our affections; prayers and services above every organization of human origin; to sustain its worship, ordinances, discipline, and doctrines; to contribute cheerfully and regularly to the support of a faithful and evangelical ministry among us, the relief of the poor, and the spread of the Gospel throughout our community and the world. In case of difference of opinion in the Church, we will strive to avoid a contentious spirit, and if we cannot unanimously agree, we will cheerfully recognize the right of the majority to govern.
We also engage to maintain family and secret devotions; to study diligently the word of God; to religiously educate our children; to seek the salvation of our kindred and acquaintances; to walk circumspectly in the world; to be kind and just to those in our employ, and faithful in the services we promise others, endeavoring in the purity of heart and goodwill toward all men to exemplify and commend our holy faith.
We further engage to watch over, to pray for, to exhort and stir up each other unto every good word and work; to guard each other's reputation, not needlessly exposing the infirmities of others, to participate in each joy, and with tender sympathy bear one another's burdens and sorrows; to cultivate Christian courtesy; to be slow to give or take offense, but always ready for reconciliation, being mindful of the rules of the Saviour in the eighteenth chapter of Matthew, to secure it without delay; and through life, amid evil report, and good report, to seek to live to the glory of God, who hath called us out of darkness into his marvelous light.
To God Be the Glory...
